@Smasha8 that’s a unique way to look at it..but i saw it as a portrait of the city of Baltimore. And it was brutally honest, hard to look at sometimes, but never gave you a fake moment. To me, that’s what I take out of it, that it was completely authentic. In real life, there aren’t too many happy endings or fairy tales. Even less so when dealing with poverty, corruption, drugs, and greed.

@dbfro no doubt it was about Baltimore, from the streets to city hall. It even showed how the city was built, but just like The Corner is was centered around drugs. Simon said it was about people betraying their establishments and truly they do. I guess what I’m saying is the one character who remains on his own tangent is Bubbles, never got too involved in anyone’s storyline and season 5 where he is at the AA meetings, its heartbreaking.

We see a drug empire rise and fall, a “natural police” turn against the force in a way and ever Carcetti turn on the city for his own gains. All of them show some big transition that leaves them worse off than before. Carcetti could throw stones but once hes in the hot seat hes struggling. Bubbles makes it the other way. BTW Treme` is really a loving portrait of a city, im yet to find it as engaging as The Wire but its certainly as authentic if not more.
