Alestorm – Leviathan

Song: Leviathan Band: Alestorm EP: Leviathan Genre: Pirate Metal Lyrics: Legend speaks of a beast Three hundred miles from it’s tip to it’s tail None have seen it, yet all know it’s name Like the ark of the covenant, or the holy grail We set out on a quest In search of the lair, where the creature doth dwell On a ransom to bring back it’s head Our journey would take us to the depths of hell His eyes shine like the rays of morning His mouth is as a burning flame Leviathan Cresting the waves Leading us all to the grave Leviathan Slaying all foes Who dare to oppose Tearing bodies limb from limb Eviscerating on a whim The skies turned to black The oceans fell dead, no winds dared to blow Then out the darkness with a thunderous roar Leviathan rose up from the depths below Cannons fired, and swords tasted blood As the beast turned to strike with rage in it’s eyes From it’s mouth came a great ball of flame It was then we all knew, that the end was nigh His eyes shine like the rays of morning His mouth is as a burning flame Leviathan Cresting the waves Leading us all to the grave Leviathan Slaying all foes Who dare to oppose Tearing bodies limb from limb Eviscerating on a whim His eyes shine like the rays of morning His mouth is as a burning flame His nostrils seethe with fumes of brimstone He is the beast that can’t be tamed Leviathan Cresting the waves Leading us all to the grave Leviathan Slaying all foes Who dare to oppose Tearing bodies limb from limb Eviscerating on a whim

Alestorm – Captain Morgan’s Revenge

Set sail for the high seas, raise the Jolly Roger, and let Alestorm take you on a voyage! Following the course first plotted by Running Wild, Alestorm writes heavy, power-metal-driven songs about wenches and mead (seriously, one of their songs is called “Wenches and Mead”), but this time, they’ve brought cannons. Lead vocalist and keytar captain Chris Bowes adds thick, symphonic backings to their music in the tradition of folk-metal bands like Turisas and Korpiklaani, two bands that Alestorm cites as influences. Axe-man Gavin Harper also proves competent, shredding through the waves with a sweep solo on this song. Raise up your pint of grog and take a swig to “Captain Morgan’s Revenge”!

ALESTORM – Keelhauled (Official)

tinyurl.com The Scottish buccaneers stand ready to capture the wealth of the Seven Seas. “Black Sails at Midnight” offers a treasure chest of sweeping Scottish Pirate Metal worthy of any loot-loving corsair. Irresistible growling choruses from the port side and lively keyboard melodies and heavy metal riffs from the starboard side form the basis of this highly explosive rum-induced metal mix. The catchy tales of life on the high seas, including “Keelhauled” or “The Quest”, use authentic instruments (violin, horns) to give these maritime jewels their final polish. Producer Lasse Lammert (LSD Studio) has given “Black Sails at Midnight” a unique and powerful sound, which earned him many a wench and much wealth from Captain Morgan’s personal stash, while James Murphy, known for his outstanding work with Death and Obituary, took over the mastering responsibilities. The album’s limited edition includes a live bonus DVD featuring the buccaneer’s entire 2008 Wacken performance. Alestorm have hoisted the black sails…Let the raids begin!
